Our integrated services span across four clusters: We conduct applied behavioural research, provide innovative strategy and policy advice, enable hands-on experimentation and deliver insightful trainings to public, private and non-governmental organisations.

We are growing our specialist team and are now looking for a qualified and talented Behavioural Scientist | Consultant to join our Zurich office for a first fixed term of six months from July 2022. The role is considered an entry position to our team that can potentially be extended and transformed into a permanent position.

About the Role

  • The Behavioural Scientist will become an active team member of Affective from day one. The talent will work closely with the Managing Partner, Behavioural Scientists and Data Designers as well as all global Affective Collective members on a variety of national and international projects. The talent will take the rank of a Consultant working on-site in Switzerland with a 80% to 100% workload. Business travel may be expected for up to 25% of the time. The main responsibilities of the role include: Understanding and structuring client needs and requirements as well as defining suitable processes to tackle them

  • Performing academic and best-practice secondary desk research as well as primary behavioural field research

  • Identifying, synthesising and translating academic research and theory into actionable advice

  • Selecting, ideating and designing science-backed behavioural interventions for business and policy applications

  • Planning, implementing and monitoring field experiments in collaboration with internal and external team members

  • Consolidating, analysing and interpreting secondary and primary data with the help of statistical software

  • Communicating and collaborating with clients and organisational stakeholders in Switzerland and around the globe

  • Administrating comms and admin tasks of a growing behavioural science consultancy and global brand network

Talent Profile

The ideal candidate (m/f/d) for this role has a completed academic qualification in behavioural science (or a related field) as well as first work experience in a related role (practical and/or academic). The talent is committed to working in a creative fast-paced international environment and comfortable to deliver comprehensive high-quality results with an eye for the small details that matter to global clientele. Moreover, the ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Completed degree on MSc or PhD level in behavioural science, experimental economics, neuroscience, decision science, or equivalent at university level (required key criteria)

  • Practical work experience, preferably in a behavioural science consulting, academic research, consumer psychology, customer insights, tech-marketing, business strategy, or equivalent role (required key criteria, internships count)

  • Practical experience in using experimental design platforms, e.g. Qualtrics, to run experiments (required key criteria)

  • Practical experience in handling data and performing statistical analysis using data analytics software, e.g. R or Stata, independently (required key criteria)

  • Practical experience in developing publications, translating academic insights and/or writing editorials (optional)

  • Proficiency in Apple iWork, Microsoft Office (required key criteria) and Figma, Affinity or Adobe CS (optional)

  • Proficiency in German and English (required key criteria), ideally fluent in Swiss-German, French or Italian (optional)

  • Ability and eligibility to work on-site in Zurich, motivation to travel up to 25% (required key criteria)

  • Having a creative, communicative, quality-obsessed, team-player and fun mind-set (required key criteria)
